🌟 This comic is set after the events of Pokemon Violet/Scarlet but before anything that happens in the DLC. It takes what little canon and backstory the game offered for these characters and builds upon it, trying to stay mostly faithful. Giacomo is 25.
🖤 This comic’s target audience is adults. However, it will NOT contain explicit content, violence or gore. All audiences can read it, but the contents of this comic are more likely to appeal to adults in character design, themes and writing.
❗ There will be the occasional swear. ❗
Testimonials

“A slice of life style character-driven story with an emotional core, exploring a window of time in the lives of beleaguered ex-Team Star Squad Boss Giacomo and his associates, following the events of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It deals with themes of adjusting after trauma, self-image and learning to let others in, but does it in a way that balances the heaviness of these themes with humour and sensitivity. Each character feels like a realistic and layered individual.”

“If you’d like the opportunity to appreciate the Team Star members on a deeper level, DGiacomo is a great read for that! It often pulls from subtle characterization cues that I missed when I played the game, and makes me value the writing there even more. The characters original to the comic are a highlight on their own, too! There’s a refreshing blend of silly and serious, and sensitive topics are handled with the appropriate care. For those with a keen eye, there are lots of details to pick up on, too. I’d easily recommend the comic to anyone who has an interest in human Pokémon characters and their complexities!”

“For me, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has the most interesting and varied set of human characters so far. That said, there’s still so much unexplored potential in a lot of the story threads, especially Team Star and their fight back against the bullying they all suffered at the Academy.
DGiacomo explores exactly this storyline, with Team Star boss Giacomo as its headliner. Set after the canon events of the main game and building strongly upon them, the comic goes from Giacomo’s seemingly innocent experiment with real world social media into a deep exploration of his character, his troubled past and how he and his friends tackle what life has thrown at them.
With well written and relatable themes of accepting yourself for who you are, along with some hilarious moments thrown in for good measure (Mela is amazing 💜), DGiacomo and its cute and handsome art is a highly enjoyable read no matter your Pokémon knowledge level!”
